City of York Council Project Manager Opportunity
City of York Council is seeking an experienced project manager to join its Flood Risk Management team.
Reporting to the Flood Risk Manager
You will lead an exciting Natural Flood Risk management project seeking to ensure the long term blended financial investment into NFM for the region and, secure funding for staff and targeted NFM delivery from 2029 onwards, in line with the prioritised programme of delivery (2027-2037).
Key Requirements
- Working knowledge and experience of flood risk management or working with natural processes at a catchment scale.
- Demonstrated experience of project management and delivery across a number of key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the day to day management and set the strategic direction for the project.
- Liaison with consultants, flood risk professionals, academics, and a wide range of partnerships delivering environmental and biodiversity improvements across the River Ouse catchment.

Job Details
- Post Type: Suitable as a job share opportunity.
- Public Facing: Applicants must demonstrate competency in conversing and providing advice to the public in spoken English to CEFR level C1.

- Working Arrangements: Hybrid working arrangements are available. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
