Job Opportunity: Inpatient Admin Coordinator

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, and motivated individual to join our inpatient admin coordination team. Our coordination team are integral to the smooth running of the unit to support excellent patient care.

About the Role

You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support the flow of patients and information through the unit. This may involve:

  • Admissions from our acute hospitals
  • Liaison with health professionals and relatives visiting the ward
  • Maintaining stock and medical supplies

We work as a team, so we train all staff in all aspects of the role but can support staff to specialize and take on responsibility in specific areas if they have a special interest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Telephone Contact: Communicate with patients, relatives, and a broad range of staff across the organization.
  • Computer Literacy: Familiar with Microsoft Office and good communication skills, with a positive, flexible approach to your workload.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Email, telephone calls, photocopying, filing, scanning, typing, disposal of sensitive material (this list is not exhaustive) while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communication: Use a range of media to communicate with others, including face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, letter, and conference calls.
  • Point of Contact: Serve as a contact point to healthcare professionals and others (including patients, carers, and external partners) by telephone, taking messages, and passing them on promptly and efficiently.
