Rydal Group: Inside Sales Manager
Rydal Group is a UK MSP and telecoms provider, IT support, cyber security, VoIP, connectivity and business mobile — with our own ISP, our own data centre, and over 120 staff. We look after around 2,700 B2B clients, and we're growing fast: alongside strong organic growth, we actively acquire other MSPs and telecoms businesses, so our client base grows faster than a standard business — and so does the size of the job for the people who lead it.
We're hiring an Inside Sales Manager to lead our SMB account management desk: five Internal Account Managers looking after around 1,500 business clients. You'll report to the Sales Director.
Let's be direct, this is a leadership job that sells, not a selling job with a title. You won't carry your own book, but you will be in the deals, joining the bigger conversations, unblocking the stuck ones, and closing alongside your account managers so they learn how it's done. Every deal you help land stays in your rep's number; you're paid on what the team delivers. That means being on the floor every day, listening to calls, coaching in the moment and holding the standard on activity. If you want to manage from a spreadsheet or a meeting room, this isn't for you. If you can close through other people, and want a desk you can genuinely shape as it grows, it is.
The Job
- Lead a team of five+ Internal Account Managers, each owning circa 300 clients, and help hire the next people onto the desk
- Run the floor every day: activity standards, call quality and pipeline honesty, with the tools to see it all live
- Get into the deals: join key calls, lead the harder renewals and cross-sell conversations, and close alongside your team
- Coach properly, through call reviews and structured one-to-ones, not just morning huddles
- Own the renewals book: know what's expiring months ahead and recontract on value, not discount
- Grow cross-sell across the full range, especially IT support, cyber security and Microsoft into our telecoms base
- Track churn, find its root cause, and work with Operations to fix it
- Agree account handovers with our Mid-Market team as clients grow
- Help shape the desk as it grows, including new business activity we expect to bring into the team over time
- Report weekly against a clear team scorecard, and know where the desk stands every week, not at month end
- Performance-manage when it's needed: you'll make the hard calls, not avoid them

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We Want
- You've managed a desk-based B2B sales or account management team for at least three years, ideally in telecoms, IT or an MSP. Formal management, not "informal leadership"
- You can still sell, and you'd rather close through your team than for them
- You can show your team's numbers improving under you, with figures before and after
- You coach from data, talk time, dispositions, pipeline and attainment tell you where to spend your time
- You've run a renewals book and recontracted without leading on price
- You understand VoIP, connectivity and managed IT well enough to coach and close on them, or you'll get there fast
- You hold standards consistently. Your team knows what's expected and that you'll follow through
