At ONI, we are driven by a profound mission: to propel scientific discovery and combat diseases by granting everyone the ability to visualize, comprehend, and share the intricate microscopic details of life. Our revolutionary Nanoimager is transforming how scientists study biology at the molecular level, helping researchers make discoveries that improve human health.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Inside Sales Representative to join our team based in Oxford. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about science, enjoys building relationships, and thrives on creating new commercial opportunities.
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new opportunities, engaging prospective customers across academia, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical organizations, and supporting our global sales team in building a strong pipeline of future business. You'll be the first point of contact for many researchers, helping them understand how ONI's technologies can accelerate their work while ensuring a seamless transition into the sales process.
To be successful, you'll combine excellent communication skills with curiosity about life science research. You enjoy speaking with scientists, asking thoughtful questions to understand their challenges, and identifying where ONI's technology can make an impact. You're highly organized, proactive, and motivated by achieving measurable results in a fast-growing, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Generate and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting, inbound enquiries, marketing campaigns, events, referrals, and digital engagement.
- Research and identify prospective customers across academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and CRO organizations using Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, scientific publications, conferences, and other prospecting tools.
- Engage prospective customers through email, phone, virtual meetings, and social outreach to understand their research and commercial needs.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings, demonstrations, and technical discussions with Sales Executives and Field Application Scientists.
- Manage and nurture early-stage opportunities, maintaining regular communication until prospects are sales-ready.
- Manage and process consumable orders from quotation through order confirmation, ensuring timely, accurate communication with customers and close coordination with Operations and Customer Success teams.
- Support customers with consumable enquiries, quotations, and order follow-up, providing an excellent customer experience throughout the purchasing process.
- Work closely with Marketing to follow up on campaign responses, webinar attendees, event leads, and website enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunity stages, and pipeline activity within Salesforce.
- Support territory planning by identifying strategic target accounts and expanding engagement within existing organizations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Applications teams to ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to help shape commercial strategy, messaging, and future product development.
- Consistently achieve activity, pipeline generation, and opportunity creation targets.
- Keeps accurate records of pipeline generation dashboards that track funnel health, and conversion metrics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
