The role
As an Inside Sales Team Lead you own the output of a team of Inside Sales Representatives. That means driving sales volume and quality, managing the full sales cycle from signature through to customer onboarding, and making sure your team hits its numbers consistently. Your own sales track record is what gives you credibility here. But the job itself is about leading, coaching, and running your floor well.
What you'll do
- Set the standard for effort and results, and run the daily rhythm that converts activity into signed sales and completed onboardings
- Diagnose whether an ISR's gap is volume, product knowledge, or quality, and coach accordingly using call reviews, roleplay, shadowing, and 1:1s
- Bring performance data into coaching conversations, and recognise people for effort, improvement, and culture, not only for hitting numbers
- Keep morale and motivation up in a high-rejection environment, and run onboarding that gets new hires to their first sale faster
- Review sales and activity metrics on a set cadence, catch dips before they show up in the monthly result, and hold reps accountable across the full onboarding cycle
- Give your manager an accurate read on performance, lead with what matters most, and bring a proposed solution alongside any problem
- Interview every ISR who joins your team using the methodologies we use at Flatpay

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
- A strong track record in a sales role, ideally telesales or another high-volume, high-rejection environment
- Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues, whether formally as a team lead or informally as a senior rep
- Comfort working with performance data: you can read a set of team numbers and make a call based on what they show
- Willingness to have direct performance and behaviour conversations, and to follow through on them
- Consistency: you hold the same standard whether or not a manager is watching
- Previous management experience is not required. We promote strong ISRs into this role and support them through it.
