Our technology team is actively seeking an Insight Analyst to join its Applied Insights & Analytics team, helping transform data into actionable insights that drive better business decisions and commercial value. Working across areas including Trading, Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Finance, and Customer teams, the role involves analysing data, identifying opportunities, answering key business questions, and delivering clear, data-driven recommendations. As part of Primark’s innovative technology function, the successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to support business growth, leveraging strong analytical skills and commercial awareness to turn complex data into meaningful outcomes.

Job Description
What You’ll Do as Insight Analyst
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Deliver impactful business insights by partnering with stakeholders to understand commercial challenges, frame key business questions, and translate data into actionable recommendations that drive better decision-making.
- Analyse and interpret complex datasets using SQL, insight applications, and reporting tools to uncover trends, identify risks and opportunities, and support decisions across Trading, Customer, Retail Operations, and other commercial functions.
- Create compelling data-driven stories by turning complex analytical outputs into clear, concise insights, visualisations, and recommendations that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and enhance reporting solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting packs, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent, user-friendly, and focused on delivering measurable business value.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying manual processes, recurring business questions, and opportunities to streamline, standardise, and optimise reporting and insight delivery across the organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Data & Analytics teams, including Business Partners, Senior Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists, while maintaining strong data quality standards and ensuring trusted, insight-led outcomes that support commercial growth and operational performance.

Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:
- Experience in analytics, insights, reporting, or commercial analysis within retail, apparel, grocery, FMCG, or other fast-paced consumer-focused environments, with strong SQL skills and the ability to confidently query, analyse, and interpret data to support business decisions.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and analytics tools, with experience creating insightful dashboards, scorecards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect data and analysis to sales growth, conversion, margin improvement, markdown optimisation, stock availability, customer performance, and operational effectiveness.
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to transform complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives, visualisations, recommendations, and decision-support materials for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven stakeholder management and commercial partnering experience, working collaboratively to understand business priorities, challenge assumptions constructively, shape analytical requirements, and deliver actionable insights linked to tangible value and benefits realisation.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, comfortable working with imperfect data, applying appropriate quality checks, improving reporting processes, simplifying decision-making, and identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, reporting efficiency, and overall business performance.
