About the Role:
This role will form part of the MI Insights team working specifically as a dedicated resource with the Client & Broker Distribution team. This will involve engaging heavily with this team designed to facilitate business for Liberty and develop the right connections and solutions for our Clients and Brokers. The MI service will facilitate better data and data driven decisions with this team and benefitting our overall underwriting strategy. The skillset involved will cover requirements gathering, liaising and communicating with the Distribution team, catering to their reporting needs and creating high quality analytics. In addition, the role will progress the service to supply additional insights and trends to add value and information to end users wherever possible. This includes actively seeking new sources of relevant data where applicable and exploring the potential of leveraging existing data sources and other advanced capabilities to best support LSM and Broker and Client Distribution.
The ownership and accountability of this role covers a range of key deliverables and a varied and interesting array of data. This role will require someone to step in and manage the relationships and delivery of work as effectively as possible. It is a key function for the MI team that poses great opportunity and responsibility for someone to oversee.
The role will also require ownership of workload and co-ordination in line with the Distribution team’s expectations. This should ensure their MI and analytical needs are met with an emphasis on becoming a trusted business advisor, whilst remaining reactive to requests as they come in. The role will progress the MI service to supply additional insights and trends to add value and information to end users, including actively seeking new sources of relevant data where applicable to best support the team’s function and Liberty’s aspirations.
The time spent will be split between developing reports in PowerBI, underpinned by SQL SSMS skills and some excel and supporting the team in any meetings/adhoc reviews as required. Additional onboarding of new Qualtrics data and use of Alteryx will also be needed infrequently. The remaining time will be spent supporting projects and business initiatives, enhancing data and analysis, ad-hoc tasks and working with the rest of the MI team to ensure the best approach is taken to data and reporting.

The MI Department is a large team offering a comprehensive service on data, analytics and insights to the business. The team provides an excellent and inclusive culture designed to be supportive and help develop our analysts accordingly. We are a business facing team with a range of technical ability and business knowledge to help our integral function service our varied and many stakeholders. We encourage the team to work collaboratively and openly and provide a platform for us to collectively deliver a key service further Liberty’s effectiveness and decision-making process.

In this role, the MI department will form the underlying network to support the Distribution MI Analyst as they progress our service with their embedded responsibilities. The Client & Broker Distribution team supports key initiatives at Liberty with varying skills, capability and requirements. The team itself contains very engaged stakeholders who require regular and important assistance/progression with our data and reporting offering. The MI function and Client & Broker Distribution team have worked very successfully together to compliment each other and provide Liberty and Key decision makers with the information and analytical insights they require.
Key Responsibilities:

Support Client & Broker Distribution with data and analysis

Act as key contact for MI Department in this field and provide relevant business knowledge

Collect and understand requirements for new PowerBI reporting and deliver new reports

Complete complex ad-hoc requests

Work closely with the supporting service functions to further Client & Broker Distribution engagement and solutions

Promote the use of data and the profile of MI within the LSM
-
Investigating new software/concepts that may assist MI or LSM
-
Research new data availability that will enrich current data offerings and reports

Develop LSM culture of data driven decision making through training and education

Produce clear and concise reports to analyse business activity

Manage stakeholders across multiple global offices and ensure communications are maintained.

Skills and Experience:

- Effectively interacts and communicates with clients and colleagues to understand what kind of information they need
- Shows initiative in undertaking tasks and the ability to prioritise stakeholder needs
- Experience working within a larger team and evidence of being an effective team player
- An understanding of the insurance function and data requirements therein.
- Excellent knowledge of PowerBI and can clearly demonstrate knowledge on building reports to a high standard
- Strong business data analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Requires strong and relevant work experience gained in a similar role within the financial sector
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases; can demonstrate how to write queries.
- Effectively uses and manipulates data from databases and I.T. systems to produce qualitative data for the business
Preferred Criteria:
- An understanding of alternative ETL systems such as (but not limited to) Alteryx or Qualtrics
- Understanding of sharepoint functionality and Power BI administration
- Progression towards ACII
- Previous experience of using Power Automate to deliver end user value
- Previous experience with an insurer or brokerage
