Job Purpose
FOW is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our editorial team.
As Data Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and visualising our large, global, futures and options trading volumes database. Working alongside our busy team of editors, you will be called upon to create ad hoc charts appearing in the articles they are producing throughout the day. You will be responsible for producing regular data reports and chartbooks highlighting trends in the futures and options market. With a dotted line to our data team, you will also ensure our data are timely and accurate.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide data support to the editorial team.
- Establish a template for FOW graphics.
- Produce ad hoc charts to appear in daily editorial articles.
- Develop a format for, and produce, data reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
- Create a database of regularly used charts.
- Oversee the Data Insights section of the FOW website.
- Identify trends through data analysis.
- Run error checks to ensure accuracy across our extensive volumes database.
Key Interfaces
- Work closely with the Director of Content to ensure data content adheres to editorial standards.
- Closely collaborate with the editorial team to add a data perspective to their reports.
- Work with the data team to ensure timely and accurate data. Make suggestions for additional data and improvements where necessary.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a Data Analyst or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in managing and visualising data in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong data manipulation skills.
- Report formatting and production using Microsoft Powerpoint and Word.
- An excellent eye for detail.
- Native-level fluency in English, both oral and written.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also collaborating with colleagues across time zones.
Desirable
- Familiarity with using AI platforms for data analysis.
- SQL, APIs, Python or R competency would be a plus.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Ability to suggest new processes and platforms for managing data.
- Familiarity with financial markets data.
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject.
