Data and Insights Manager
Salary: £65,000 to £80,000
Location: Leeds
Hybrid - On site 2-3 days a week.
We are working with a leading organisation in the data and analytics space to hire a Data and Insights Manager, a high-impact opportunity to shape trusted reporting, insight delivery and data capability across the business.
This is a standout role for a technically strong leader who enjoys combining people management, stakeholder influence and data strategy. The Data and Insights Manager will play a key part in developing self-service BI, strengthening data governance and driving delivery against wider digital and data priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Data & Insights team, setting clear objectives, running regular 1-to-1s and supporting professional growth.
- Own team workload planning, prioritisation and capacity management so resources are aligned to business priorities.
- Set and improve team ways of working, including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and continuous improvement practices.
- Support the development and delivery of the organisation’s Data & Digitalisation Strategy.
- Lead stakeholder engagement to ensure the strategy reflects business requirements, industry developments and organisational priorities.
- Oversee the development and ongoing improvement of the data portal and associated data services.
- Translate stakeholder demand into clear roadmaps, priorities and delivery plans.
- Allocate work across Data Analysts and Reporting Analysts according to skills, capacity and business priorities.
- Monitor delivery performance, service quality, throughput and agreed SLAs, proactively resolving blockers and aged requests.
- Build trusted relationships with business leaders, technology teams and operational stakeholders.
- Promote data quality, master data management, governance and compliant data handling.
- Drive adoption of self-service analytics and reduce reliance on ad-hoc reporting through curated datasets and governed reporting models.
- Support GDPR and data protection activities, working with relevant stakeholders.
- Engage with external partners, industry bodies and regulators where appropriate on data quality, open data and shared standards.
- Develop individual Professional Development Plans and support ongoing team capability.

Experience & Skills
- Proven experience leading Data, Analytics, BI or Reporting teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing competing priorities, workload planning and delivery in a changing environment.
- Strong understanding of enterprise BI, reporting and data platforms.
- Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Datasphere would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of self-service analytics, governed semantic models and scalable reporting practices.
- Working knowledge of data governance, master data management and data quality principles.
- Experience developing or contributing to data, analytics or digital strategies.
- Ability to translate complex data and technology concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Strong data storytelling and communication skills.
- Familiarity with open/shared data principles and geospatial data would be beneficial.
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
