The New Homes Ombudsman Service (NHOS) is looking for an Insights & Report Writer to help us identify, understand and communicate the key themes emerging from complaints, casework and customer experiences across the new homes sector. This is an exciting opportunity to shape industry learning, inform strategic decisions, and contribute to improving outcomes for consumers nationwide.
About the role
As our Insights & Report Writer, you'll be responsible for analysing a range of quantitative and qualitative information to identify recurring themes, emerging risks, developer performance trends and wider sector issues. You'll transform complex evidence into clear, engaging and authoritative reports for both internal and external audiences.

You'll work closely with colleagues across operations, communications, policy and leadership teams, helping NHOS and the New Homes Quality Board understand what complaints and customer experiences are telling us about the sector and where improvements can be made.
What you'll be doing
- Analysing complaints, casework and operational data to identify trends, themes and emerging issues.
- Investigating root causes and highlighting opportunities for improvement and learning.
- Producing thematic reviews, insight papers, reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Turning complex information into clear, compelling narratives that can be understood by a wide range of audiences.
- Supporting the production of annual reports, stakeholder communications and other public-facing publications.
- Preparing performance reporting and analysis to support governance and strategic decision-making.
- Ensuring all reporting is evidence-based, accurate, balanced and compliant with confidentiality requirements.

What we're looking for
- Experience analysing complaint, customer service, operational, regulatory or similar datasets.
- Exceptional report-writing skills and the ability to present complex findings clearly and concisely.
- Experience producing reports, management information, dashboards or performance packs.
- The ability to identify meaningful themes and trends from both quantitative and qualitative information.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
