Job Description

Job Purpose

To assist with the supervision of the restructuring and recovery process through from planning to review and completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a portfolio of insolvency cases and ensure cases are efficiently and proactively progressed.
  • Participate in independent business review, and other advisory, work from time to time.
  • Liaison with appointee and other staff where appropriate to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant issues.
  • Ensure staff are briefed and motivated in order to complete cases efficiently.
  • Review staff work and comment constructively on their performance.
  • Provide training to staff through on-the-job experience.
  • Ensure all work is reviewed. Ensure files are completed to a state suitable for review.
  • Attend final meetings with clients and relevant manager or appointee.
  • Identify opportunities where we may be able to provide further services.
  • To assist the manager and partner/director in ensuring that client needs are met and that the range of our services is extended.
  • Where possible, the service level expectations of our clients should be exceeded.
  • Attend marketing events where appropriate.
  • Review statutory documents for compliance with Insolvency regulations and relevant standards.
  • Prepare case reviews and brief partners on work carried out and business issues.
  • Assist managers and partners/directors to manage WIP and debtors on a client by client basis.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of corporate (administration/liquidation) and property (LPA) insolvencies is necessary. Required
  • Knowledge of insolvency rules and statutory requirements. Required
  • Quick to learn/adapt to new procedures/situations. Required
  • Ability to organise to be able to work on several different assignments at one time. Required

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • Ideally C.P.I. qualified.

Key Competencies

  • Planning and organising - to ensure all client work is carried out within the appropriate timescales through continual monitoring of progression of the work.
  • Technical expertise - to ensure work is conducted to correct standard and is accurate and meaningful. To be able to answer technical queries and make technical decisions in conjunction with senior staff.
  • Business writing - a high level of English/writing is required as the drafting of reports and other correspondence is a key aspect of the role.
  • Commercial awareness - to have a good understanding of the commercial factors affecting a case and to be able to monitor the commercial effectiveness of work done by Evelyn Partners by reviewing costs against budget.
  • Teamwork - working as a team with the partners, directors and staff to ensure the department as a whole meets its objectives and all client demands are exceeded and dealing with differences. Being able to work collegiately with others is essential.
  • Problem solving - technical knowledge to resolve client issues and organisation to be flexible to meet client and partner/director demands.
  • Customer focus - ensuring clients expectations are exceeded, by providing a first class service at all times.
