Inspection Manager
Northamptonshire
£60k per annum
Ready to take the lead in precision engineering?
If you're passionate about metrology, know your way around CMM programming and enjoy leading a team of skilled engineers, this could be the perfect next step.
You'll lead a team of CMM Operators, Programmers and inspection technicians, helping to develop measurement programmes, solve complex quality challenges and ensure components meet the highest standards.
It's a hands-on leadership role where your technical expertise will make a real difference.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and developing the inspection team.
- Creating, developing and proving out CMM measurement programmes.
- Leading metrology investigations and supporting internal and customer quality issues.
- Carrying out measurement requests, inspections and reporting.
- Supporting new product introductions, including first and last article inspections and initial sample inspection reports.
- Working closely with manufacturing and quality teams to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
- Ensuring components meet engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and quality standards.
- Supporting continuous improvement across measurement processes, accuracy and compliance.

What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from experienced inspection professionals who enjoy getting hands-on, solving problems and supporting a team.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong experience in CMM programming.
- A strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of measurement systems analysis.
- Hands-on experience with a range of measuring equipment, including contact and non-contact systems.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions and problem-solving activities.
- Knowledge of quality standards, traceability, concessions and containment procedures.

The following would be a bonus
- Experience in motorsport, automotive, aerospace or precision engineering environments.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant quality standards.
- Experience with precision-machined components, process planning, jigs and fixtures.
