Make a difference

Every role at CQC contributes to our mission. If you’re looking for a new role in Primary Care & Community Services Directorate that gives a true sense of meaning and purpose, then you’ve found it.

As an Inspection Project Manager, in the Safehouses Team in National Operations you’ll help make sure key improvement programmes run smoothly, supporting high-quality regulation that helps keep people safe and improves care.

The Safehouses Team sits within National Operations and delivers a non-regulatory inspection programme commissioned by the Home Office which reports on the quality of support provided to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Picture this

Working as an Inspection Project Manager, no two days are the same. You’ll help turn ideas into action, working with a wide range of colleagues to improve how the directorate plans, delivers and monitors important programmes of work.

In the last year as an Inspection Project Manager in the Primary Care & Community Services Directorate, you might have:

  • Led a project to review and improve governance processes, helping teams work more effectively and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinated a cross-directorate programme, bringing together stakeholders, tracking progress and helping resolve risks to keep delivery on track.

The role

You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead projects and programmes: Manage and coordinate projects across the safehouses programme, ensuring activities are planned, delivered and monitored effectively.
  • Provide insight and oversight: Lead on governance oversight of the safehouses programme. Produce reports, briefings and updates that track progress, highlight risks and support informed decision-making.
  • Support continuous improvement: Work with colleagues and stakeholders to solve issues, improve ways of working and strengthen operational performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A Note on AI

About

AI tools can be great for research and refining ideas, but we want to learn about you. If you use AI or Chatbots to help you with your application, keep these points in mind:

  • AI can support research, structuring and refining your writing, but your application must reflect your real skills and experience.
  • Spell-checking and condensing word counts are great ways to use AI effectively.
  • Do not copy and paste AI generated answers. These will not help you stand out; remember we want to hear about your skills and experience.
  • Providing false and insincere examples goes against our core values of honesty and integrity and may lead to your application being withdrawn or termination of your employment.
