Job Title: Inspection Engineer – Pressure Equipment
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: UK Field Based
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 16.30pm
Salary: Competitive + Company Vehicle/Allowance + Benefits

We are looking for an experienced Inspection Engineer to join our Industrial Services team. This is a field-based role carrying out inspections of pressure equipment and associated systems to ensure compliance with UK Regulations, European Directives, and industry standards. You will work across a wide range of client sites, delivering high-quality inspection services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of pressure equipment and containment systems in accordance with PED, PESR, ADR, TPED and TPER requirements.
- Independently assess and report inspection findings in line with SGS procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage inspection activities safely and effectively, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and customers on pressure equipment inspection and compliance matters.
- Carry out inspection duties in a commercially focused manner, supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience in:
- Inspection of pressure vessels, piping systems, safety accessories, and related pressure equipment.
- Working within engineering, inspection, manufacturing, process, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
- Applying UK and European pressure equipment regulations and standards.
- Delivering statutory inspections and producing technical reports.
- Working independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and professional judgement.
You will also have the following:
- Engineering Technician qualification, ONC with relevant experience, or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
- Strong understanding of Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR/PSSR).
- Knowledge of the carriage of dangerous goods regulations or a related industry sector.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
- Understanding of Health & Safety at Work legislation and safe systems of work.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- HNC or HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Knowledge of SAFed technical guidance documentation.
- Specialist qualifications such as LEEA, CCSNG Passport to Safety, IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, Confined Space, Working at Height, or Wire Rope Examiner certifications.
- Experience working within accredited inspection environments and quality management systems.
