As an Authorised Inspector within Inspections & Enforcement, you’ll be at the frontline of the UK’s response to evolving security threats bringing the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law) to life. This isn’t just compliance; it’s about safeguarding lives.
Responsibilities
You’ll lead complex Terrorism Protection Investigations (Inspections), using your judgement and statutory powers to assess whether organisations are meeting their legal responsibilities. From major events to public venues, your work will directly influence how prepared the UK is against potential threats.

This is a role for someone who thrives on autonomy, responsibility, and purpose. You’ll plan and conduct inspections, build evidence-led cases, and make critical decisions ranging from offering guidance to pursuing enforcement action. Your attention to detail will ensure every case stands up to scrutiny, including in court when required.
No two days are the same. You’ll collaborate with experts, engage stakeholders across sectors, and travel across your region sometimes staying overnight to deliver operational activity where it matters most.

Additional Information
This role is being recruited for nationally, with a total of 15 roles available across the UK. Successful candidates will be recruited based on merit and the required volume of roles within each of the four regions outlined below.
The successful candidates will be expected to work across the designated region, including a requirement for regular travel and distance working.
