Be Part of Building a Safe and Confident Staffordshire
Staffordshire Police is seeking talented and forward-thinking Inspectors to help lead policing at a pivotal time. Our ambition is clear: to deliver a safe and confident Staffordshire through an outstanding local police service that puts communities first, supports its people, and works closely with partners.
As an Inspector, you will play a key role in delivering Force priorities, including protecting vulnerable people, improving investigative standards, building public confidence, and reducing crime and antisocial behaviour across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Force that is investing in its people, technology and future. You will lead officers and staff to deliver high-quality policing, manage operational demand, develop strong partnerships, and drive continuous improvement within your area of responsibility.
Applications are welcomed from external substantive Inspectors seeking a lateral move and substantive Sergeants ready for promotion who can demonstrate the leadership, professionalism and values expected at CVF Level 2.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
