Your role

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the installation business, taking ownership of projects from order handover through to commissioning and sign-off
  • Oversee resource planning and scheduling to maximise technician utilisation and operational efficiency
  • Manage project lifecycles, budgets, costs, materials, and profitability across multiple installation projects
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, equipment, and logistics to ensure successful project delivery
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the key point of contact throughout project delivery
  • Lead, motivate, and develop project managers, planners, and installation technicians
  • Ensure all installations comply with health, safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including RAMS and pressure systems requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through project reviews, variation management, and performance analysis

To succeed, you will need

  • NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience managing mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, industrial pipework, or compressed air installation projects
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, and margin management
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Health and safety awareness, with supervisory safety certification desirable (SSSTS, SMSTS, or IOSH Managing Safely)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
