Installation Engineer – Industrial Doors & Security Systems

Blount Shutters Ltd is looking for experienced and motivated Installation Engineers to join our growing team. Established in 1984, we are a leading UK provider of industrial doors, roller shutters, fire shutters, high-speed doors, sectional overhead doors, and security pedestrian doors.

With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and customer service, we work with a diverse range of industrial, commercial, retail, and public sector clients throughout the UK.

We are seeking skilled engineers who take pride in their workmanship, deliver high standards of installation, and provide excellent customer service.

The Role

As an Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning a range of industrial door and steel doors at customer premises across the UK.

  • Installing roller shutters and industrial doors.
  • Installing overhead sectional doors and high-speed doors.
  • Installing steel security pedestrian doors and associated equipment.
  • Carrying out mechanical fitting, electrical wiring, adjustments, and commissioning.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and installation instructions.
  • Ensuring all installations meet relevant safety requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Diagnosing and resolving installation issues efficiently.
  • Completing installation reports and maintaining accurate job records.
  • Communicating professionally with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience installing industrial doors, roller shutters, or similar equipment.
  • Good mechanical knowledge and practical electrical skills.
  • Experience installing sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, or security pedestrian doors (an advantage).
  • The ability to work independently, plan workloads, and solve technical problems.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to travel to customer sites as required.
  • A portfolio or photographs of previous installation work, where available.

Relevant industry qualifications and training are desirable. Candidates with transferable mechanical or electrical installation experience will also be considered.
