Telecoms Installation Engineer
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: £24,500 to £30,000 Basic Salary
A growing datacentre and connectivity provider based in Newcastle upon Tyne is hiring two Telecoms Installation Engineers as it expands its regional fibre and wireless network. No previous experience is required and full training is provided, so this genuinely suits someone at the start of their career as much as someone with existing cabling or networking exposure. The current Head of Installs and members of senior leadership all started in this exact role, so there is a real and proven path upward for the right person.

Responsibilities
- Install network infrastructure including external underground and overhead cabling, internal structured cabling and supporting infrastructure such as splices, fibre terminals and patch panels
- Assist with underground duct surveys and route proving, rod and roping activities and network planning
- Install high speed radio links, working from a cherry picker or on rooftops
- Support installation and maintenance projects and general upkeep within datacentre and network facilities
- Report progress, defects and blockages to the operations team

Skills Required
- Full clean UK driving licence, ideally aged 21 or over
- Willing to work outdoors and at height, including some out of hours work
- Clear communication skills and self motivation
Strong Differentiators
- Openreach PIA accreditation, fibre splicing, network testing or structured cabling experience
- Public highway or duct mapping and survey experience
- Existing background in cabling, IT or networking
