The Installation Operation Specialist at JD.com, Inc. is responsible for the efficient and accurate setup, configuration, and maintenance of various equipment and systems to support our logistics and operational infrastructure.

This is a key operational role within a growing installation business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installation standards, technical compliance and service delivery, while supporting the development of our installer network and operational processes.
Initially, the role will have a strong focus on establishing installation standards, auditing, technical support, training, and operational capability. As the operation grows, the role will oversee expanding installation teams across multiple UK locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational and technical management of Electrical and EV installation services.
- Ensure all installation work meets relevant UK electrical regulations, safety requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Audit completed and ongoing installations to maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Provide technical guidance and remedial support for complex installation issues.
- Develop installation SOPs, quality standards, technical guidance, and compliance processes.
- Support the recruitment, assessment, and onboarding of qualified electrical and EV installers.
- Deliver or coordinate technical training and competency assessments for installation teams.
- Monitor installer performance, installation quality, compliance, and customer service levels.
- Support the development of the EV charging installation operation, including relevant OZEV and MCS requirements.
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, Customer Service, and HR teams to continuously improve installation performance.
- Support the expansion of installation operations from Luton into Manchester, Croydon, Bristol, and other UK locations.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Valid ECS Gold Card.
- AM2 qualification.
- Relevant EV Charger Installation qualification(s).
- Strong practical experience in domestic and/or commercial electrical installation.
- Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations and safe working practices.
- Previous experience supervising, managing, or technically supporting electrical installers.
- Experience conducting installation audits, quality inspections, and remedial works.
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Desirable Requirements
- Good understanding of OZEV requirements and approved EV charging schemes.
- Knowledge or practical experience of MCS standards and certification requirements.
- Previous experience within home installation, last-mile installation, EV charging, or field-service operations.
- Experience developing or delivering installer training.
- Experience supporting recruitment or technical interviews for installation engineers.
- Experience building or scaling a new installation operation would be advantageous.
