About the Role
SWARCO UK is seeking a Traffic Signal Installer to join our team. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for installing, refurbishing, and repairing a variety of traffic signalling and electrical street equipment, including CD-software for lighting, CCTV, barrier systems, and more—ensuring compliance with customer specifications and QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Security Environment) regulations.
You will manage sites efficiently, deliver tasks on time, and ensure seamless handover to customers, prioritising customer satisfaction. The role requires both independent and collaborative work while adhering to strict safety guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and refurbish traffic signals, street lighting, CCTV, and barrier systems in line with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Operate and control work sites, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
- Perform safety inspections, quality checks, and QHSSE compliance at all stages.
- Conduct smooth site handovers to meet customer expectations.
- Occasionally travel outside the St Albans area, possibly requiring overnight stays.
- Work collaboratively while maintaining a high standard of work ethic.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths & Science (desirable for electrical-related roles).
- Basic electrical knowledge (training will be provided for Sector 8 accreditation if not already held).
- Understanding of traffic signal site installation theory and operational principles.
- Full UK Driving License (essential for fieldwork).
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Confidence working at heights.
Desirable (if applicable)
- Existing Sector 8 Accreditation (though training will be provided).
