THE ROLE
Virtu is looking for an experienced Institutional Sales Trader to join our EMEA prop team, focusing on developing and supporting client relationships across the continent. This client-facing role combines trading, technology, and relationship management. You will act as a trusted execution partner to clients, understanding their trading objectives and working closely with Virtu’s sales and trading teams to deliver high-quality execution and grow our European OTC business. - Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, ETF issuers, and other ETF stakeholders across Europe.
- Onboard clients and provide them with relevant market color, liquidity insights, and pre- and post-trade analysis.
- Manage client orders throughout the execution lifecycle and deliver high-quality outcomes, including working with principal traders and algorithmic execution of orders.
- Take a consultative approach, identifying the execution strategies and solutions that best meet clients’ needs.
- Identify new areas of growth.
- Be responsible for growing and elevating the European OTC business.
THE CANDIDATE
- At least 3 years of experience in institutional sales, sales trading, or capital markets.
- Experience developing and managing relationships with institutional investors.
- Fluency in English and either Italian or German is essential. Additional European languages are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of ETFs, European equity markets, market structure, liquidity, and execution strategies.
- Strong commercial judgment, analytical ability, and risk awareness.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- A proactive, collaborative, and entrepreneurial approach.
