Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About DRW

DRW is a Cambridge-based molecular diagnostics company, focused on developing simple, rapid and accessible point-of-care testing for infectious diseases. Originating as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, DRW has developed the SAMBA (Simple AMplification-Based Assay) platform, which brings high-quality molecular testing closer to the patient, without the need for complex laboratory infrastructure, or specialist users. We have a strong heritage in global health and HIV diagnostics and have expanded our assay portfolio into respiratory and other infectious diseases. Our latest SAMBA III platform is designed to provide rapid, highly multiplexed molecular testing across a broad range of clinical applications.

The SAMBA III Instrument Platform

Our SAMBA III platform is a stand-alone, bench top instrument, with an electromechanical architecture. The instrument utilizes a combination of stepper and brushless DC motors to drive mechanisms, which manipulate the component parts of our consumable cartridge, thus performing sample purification and preparation. The instrument also incorporates our proprietary thermal and optical control modules, which in combination facilitate a rapid fluorescent-based PCR amplification and detection sequence. A typical assay takes around 40 minutes to run, following which a user is presented with the test results.

The SAMBA III instrument is controlled by several custom PCBAs which run bespoke embedded software applications to control the motors, optics, temperature, etc. A further bespoke application runs on a standard industrialized tablet, which acts as the User Interface, and can control up to eight SAMBA III instruments over a Bluetooth (LE) connection.
