We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrument Technician with CompEx 1-4 certification to join our client's team for a Shutdown on a Power Station near Bristol.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation systems within our facilities, ensuring safety and operational excellence. Your expertise will help us deliver reliable performance across our projects, supporting safe operations in potentially hazardous environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious setting while contributing to the success of critical industrial processes.

End Date: 17th October (Sunday 10th October Off)

Hours: 10 Hours Per Day
Rates
- First 38 Hours: £34.18
- After 38 Hours: £44.43
- Saturday: £44.43
- Sunday: £49.00
Accommodation can be provided.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Read and interpret complex schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose system faults efficiently.
- Perform preventative maintenance on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation devices to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections in compliance with safety standards such as CompEx certification requirements, ensuring safe working conditions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to modify or upgrade instrumentation systems using AutoCAD for detailed drawings.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately and maintain detailed records of repairs, calibrations, and inspections.
- Provide excellent customer service by supporting operational teams with technical expertise and timely solutions.

Qualifications
- Valid CompEx certification demonstrating competence in hazardous area instrumentation work.
- Proven experience with electrical systems, instrumentation maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to support installation and repair activities.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to instrumentation systems.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation controls.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for creating or interpreting technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to customer service and teamwork.
