Role Description
Instrumental Tutors will deliver one-to-one and small group lessons in instruments such as piano, drums, guitar, singing, and other disciplines, following Omagh Music Academy guidelines and best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The tutor will prepare students for performances, exams, and personal milestones, provide constructive feedback, and communicate regularly with learners and their parents or caregivers. This is a contract role and is fully on-site at Omagh Music Academy in Omagh, requiring reliable attendance, collaboration with other tutors, and participation in Omagh Music Academy events where needed.
Qualifications
- Strong practical proficiency in at least one instrument or voice (e.g., piano, drums, guitar, singing) and ability to demonstrate techniques clearly.
- Experience in music teaching, coaching, or mentoring, with skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, and student assessment.
- Sound knowledge of music theory, notation, and relevant styles or genres appropriate to the instruments taught.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work inclusively with learners of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
- Organisational skills for managing schedules, maintaining lesson records, and coordinating with Omagh Music Academy staff and families.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude toward collaborative working in an on-site teaching environment.
- Relevant music qualifications, performance experience, or teaching certifications are preferred but not essential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required background checks or clearances for working with children and young people.
- Full training will be provided.
