Junior Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician

Location: Oxford

Salary: GBP25,000 : GBP30,000

A growing, specialist engineering consultancy delivering fibre optic monitoring services across the ground engineering and structural sectors, both in the UK and internationally, are seeking a recent graduate to join their team. The business is ISO 9001 and 14001 accredited and is expanding its technical team.

As a Junior Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician, you will support the delivery of projects, assisting with the preparation and installation of sensitive instrumentation, including fibre optics, on busy construction sites. You'll also learn to work with dataloggers and monitoring software, complete quality checks, maintain accurate site records, and support health and safety documentation.

The position is based near Oxford and involves regular travel, working away from home, and occasional unsociable hours at short notice.

Requirements

To be considered for the Junior Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician role, you will need:

  • BSc-level Engineering qualification (Civil, Mechanical, Geology, or similar)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Previous site experience/CSCS card is desirable
  • You must live in or near Oxford to be within practical commuting distance of the office
