The role

As an Instrumentation Field Service Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operational sites running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll be out in the field diagnosing faults, carrying out planned maintenance, and ensuring our instrumentation and control equipment performs exactly as it should.

You’ll work closely with process, operations, and engineering teams to keep critical assets online and to support continuous improvement across our network. This is a hands-on role where no two days look the same — perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, autonomy, and working in varied environments.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Fault-finding, repairing and calibrating instrumentation including flow, pressure, level, and analytical equipment
  • Completing reactive and planned maintenance across the Cumbria region
  • Supporting installations, upgrades, and project teams with technical expertise
  • Providing high-quality digital work records and documentation
  • Working safely and professionally across all sites

What You Will Bring:

  • Level 3 qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control, or Mechatronics
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with industrial/process instrumentation or similar
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and P&IDs
  • Full UK driving license
  • A proactive, independent working style
