About this position:

Join a specialist engineering company developing load monitoring and measurement systems, where you'll work on bespoke PLC and instrumentation projects from initial design through to commissioning.

Working within a close-knit team, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects across the full lifecycle - from PLC & instrumentation design and programming through to testing, FAT/SAT and commissioning.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver and document instrumentation & PLC systems for customer requirements
  • Develop PLC logic in Ladder or SCL and produce HMI screen layouts
  • Produce system specifications, wiring diagrams, BOMs & I/O tables
  • Build and complete in-house testing of designed systems
  • Lead FAT & SAT activities, including client sign-off
  • Provide customer support and troubleshooting for PLC & instrumentation systems
  • Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, calibration & fault finding
  • Provide system training to end users
  • Travel to ships and vessels for calibration and commissioning activities

  • Strong Siemens S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal & WinCC experience
  • Experience with control cabinet design & electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of Profibus, Profinet & Modbus TCP/IP
  • Familiarity with RS232, RS485 ASCII & Modbus protocols
  • Experience with FAT, SAT & technical documentation
  • Degree/HND in Electrical, Controls or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable with client-facing work and international travel
  • ATEX, 440VAC/motor controls and BOSIET/GWO desirable
  • Able to meet ENG1B or OGUK Medical requirements and hold a valid passport
