Insurance Account Executive
£35,000 - £40,000 Plus Commission
Location: Telford
Job Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm 37.5 hours per week
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Executive to join a well-established and highly respected organisation operating within the insurance and financial services sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, delivering exceptional service, and identifying opportunities to support clients with their insurance and risk management needs.
Role Overview
Working with a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, you will act as a trusted point of contact, providing expert guidance and ensuring clients receive a high standard of service throughout the life of their policies. The successful candidate will bring previous experience within the general insurance industry and be confident managing client accounts, handling renewals, and supporting business growth through both account development and new business generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, becoming a trusted adviser and primary point of contact.
- Conduct regular policy reviews and renewal discussions, ensuring clients have appropriate and effective insurance cover in place.
- Identify and develop opportunities for new business across insurance, financial services, and risk management solutions.
- Manage and service an allocated portfolio of commercial client accounts, ensuring all client requirements are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Process policy amendments, adjustments, renewals, and associated documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Respond to a wide range of client enquiries, providing knowledgeable and professional advice while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Work closely with colleagues and insurers to negotiate and secure suitable cover and solutions for clients.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and promote additional products and services that enhance client protection and meet evolving business needs.
- Maintain accurate client records, prepare reports, manage data, and produce relevant documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with industry regulations, company procedures, and compliance standards.

Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience working within the general insurance industry is essential.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, policy administration, renewals, and client account management.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with clients both over the telephone and face-to-face.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic, with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently and use initiative when required.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, problem-solving ability, professionalism, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience within financial services would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
