Banstead | £30,000–£38,000 + Benefits
Are you an experienced insurance professional who enjoys taking ownership of a book of business, building strong client relationships and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes?
CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with a rapidly growing independent insurance broking group that is looking to appoint an experienced Account Handler to its team near Banstead.
This is an exciting time to join the business. The group currently looks after approximately £17 million in gross written premium, with this expected to exceed £20 million by the end of the year—and further growth firmly on the agenda.
The role will initially focus on supporting the integration of a newly acquired book of business. You will take ownership of transferring the clients into the wider group, managing their ongoing insurance requirements and helping to ensure a seamless transition.
The Role
The acquired book contains a mixture of commercial and personal lines business, so ideally you will have experience across both areas.
A key part of the position will involve transferring data from Open GI onto Acturis. Previous experience using both systems would therefore be extremely useful, although strong Acturis experience is the main priority.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
