Insurance Actuarial Specialist – AI Model Evaluation

We are seeking experienced actuarial professionals to contribute their expertise to projects focused on evaluating and improving advanced AI systems.

The role involves creating realistic insurance and actuarial scenarios, assessing AI-generated analyses, and providing expert feedback on areas such as pricing, reserving, valuation, probability, and financial risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop realistic actuarial scenarios involving pricing, reserving, valuation, and risk analysis.
  • Review AI-generated actuarial work for methodological accuracy and sound reasoning.
  • Evaluate assumptions, calculations, analytical approaches, and conclusions.
  • Identify technical errors, unsupported assumptions, and weaknesses in actuarial reasoning.
  • Develop high-quality reference solutions and professional-level written explanations.
  • Apply structured evaluation criteria and provide clear feedback to improve AI model performance.
  • Participate in onboarding and calibration sessions as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional actuarial experience.
  • Experience in at least one actuarial practice area, including Life, Health, Property & Casualty, Pensions, Retirement, or Enterprise Risk.
  • Strong understanding of how data, assumptions, and actuarial methods influence pricing, reserves, valuation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and written communication.
  • Ability to explain technical actuarial conclusions with clear supporting rationale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASA, FSA, ACAS, FCAS, CERA, MAAA, or comparable actuarial qualification.
  • Progress toward professional actuarial examinations.
  • Experience in reinsurance, capital modeling, enterprise risk, or specialty insurance.
  • Experience with R, Python, SAS, SQL, or actuarial software.
  • Experience with regulatory filings, rate filings, or statements of actuarial opinion.

  • Minimum 20 hours per week; 40+ hours preferred
  • Flexible schedule

  • Project duration may vary depending on project requirements and performance
  • Weekly payments for completed work
