Role Purpose
Build long-lasting relationships with prospective and existing clients, delivering professional advice on insurance products and solutions that enable clients to select the products and services that best meet their needs.
Key Accountabilities
- To be the first point of contact, either in person, on the phone or via email.
- Manage your time effectively during your day-to-day activities, to maximise your availability for our clients, both inbound and outbound calls.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and expand our client base.
- Provide exceptional client service ensuring that every interaction leaves our clients with a clear and informed understanding of their insurance needs.
- Ensuring that all advice you provide meets the specific needs of each client and is given in a clear and easy-to-understand way so they can make informed financial decisions.
- Maintain a level of activity to ensure you’re achieving your targets and objectives.
- Administer insurance products, ensuring that all administration associated with sales and servicing is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Managing the timely renewal of existing policies, keeping within the established renewal process
- Support with mid-term adjustments to existing policies
- Administering claims as swiftly and thoroughly as possible whilst keeping both the client and the insurer informed at all stages.
- Adhering to established compliance standards and frameworks
- Maintaining a minimum of 15 hours Continuous Professional Development (CPD) every 12 months to ensure that your product knowledge is always current and up to date.
- Act as an ambassador for Howden and your local branch in the community.
- Actively look for opportunities during each interaction to make our clients aware of other products which may meet their needs and support with any referrals to another business area.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Clear and effective communication – Ability to explain complex insurance products in a simple and understandable way.
- Strong customer service skills – Building trust and long-term relationships with clients.
- Comfortable with client interactions – Confident dealing with people both in person and over the phone.
- Sales and problem-solving ability – A solution-driven approach to meeting client needs.
- Time management – Ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple clients effectively.
- Excellent telephone manner – Confidence in professional conversations.
Desirable
- Customer service experience – Previous role in customer-facing environments.
- Additional communication skills – Ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism.
- Strategic thinking – Developing sales approaches tailored to client needs.
- Industry knowledge – Familiarity with insurance products and regulatory standards.
- Tech-savvy – Comfortable using digital tools to manage client relationships such as a CRM system or similar
