Sellick Partnership is partnered with a leading professional services organisation to recruit an experienced Insurance Advisory Specialist into a specialist advisory team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong commercial insurance, contractual risk, and advisory experience to take on a varied role with major public-sector, government, and commercial clients.
You will advise on how insurance should be structured within contracts and procurement exercises, helping them understand their exposure, set appropriate insurance requirements, and assess whether suppliers have the right level of cover. The role offers exposure to major projects and complex commercial arrangements, with the opportunity to work closely with legal, procurement, commercial, and risk teams.
Insurance Advisory Specialist – Role Overview
The Insurance Advisory Specialist will provide specialist advice across insurance, contracts, procurement, and risk.
- Review insurance clauses and contractual requirements
- Advise on appropriate levels of cover
- Help clients make practical decisions around liability, indemnities, and risk transfer
A key part of the role will be supporting tender and procurement exercises. This will include helping to draft insurance requirements, reviewing bidder responses, and assessing whether proposed cover is suitable. Following contract award, you will also support clients with supplier insurance compliance and evidence of cover.

This is a technical advisory role rather than a traditional broking or account-handling position, making it well-suited for someone who enjoys using their insurance knowledge to solve complex commercial problems.
Insurance Advisory Specialist - Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on insurance requirements, contractual risk, and risk transfer across major projects and commercial contracts
- Review insurance clauses, policy wordings, limits, deductibles, indemnities, and evidence of cover
- Draft and review insurance requirements for tenders, procurement exercises, and contract documentation
- Assess bidder and supplier insurance arrangements, advising on adequacy, compliance, and any gaps in cover
- Work closely with legal, procurement, commercial, and risk teams to provide clear, practical advice
- Support contract negotiations, project reviews, and risk discussions, acting as a technical point of reference on insurance matters
Insurance Advisory Specialist - Requirements
- Strong experience in commercial insurance, insurance advisory, or contractual risk
- Strong technical knowledge of insurance clauses, policy wordings, limits, deductibles, and liability
- Experience with contracts, tenders, procurement, or supplier insurance requirements
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and explaining technical insurance issues clearly
- Experience across construction, infrastructure, government, public sector, outsourcing, or major projects would be advantageous
- ACII, legal, procurement, or equivalent professional experience would be advantageous, but not necessary
