Heathrow's Insurance team manages a multi-billion-pound insurance programme that
safeguards our operations, assets and people, ensuring the airport remains resilient in the face of risk. As an Insurance Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the placement and renewal of Heathrow's insurance programmes across liability, property and motor classes, helping to protect the business from significant financial and operational exposure.
Working across a complex and dynamic organisation, you'll gather, analyse and interpret critical operational and exposure data, while acting as the central point of expertise for insurance claims management. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across Heathrow, as well as insurers, brokers and claims providers, using data-driven insight to improve processes, influence decision-making and support Heathrow's long-term risk management strategy. If you're passionate about insurance, analysis, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to make a real impact in a high-profile role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the investigation and management of insurance claims, analysing causes, controls and supporting the defence of pre-litigated and litigated cases.
- Analyse claims data and market trends to identify risks, uncover improvement opportunities, and provide insights that enhance operational performance.
- Support the annual insurance programme renewal by gathering underwriting data, engaging stakeholders, and assisting with premium forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
- Produce detailed claims analysis, trend reporting and claims triangulation to inform insurance programme design and renewal strategy.
- Assist with risk financing initiatives, including risk engineering surveys, asset valuation programmes, and loss modelling to strengthen risk management.
- Design and deliver accurate, insightful reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including claims bordereaux, root cause analysis and control environment reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and their practical application, particularly across liability and property insurance lines.
- Experience of claims management and litigation processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and work effectively across a diverse range of teams.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capability, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
