We're currently looking for an Insurance Apprentice to join our team at Platform Housing; a great opportunity for the right candidate looking to take the first step toward a successful, long-term career in insurance and housing.

It's an introduction to insurance and an opportunity to learn about the profession, developing the skills required to progress. You will be given the opportunity to make your mark. You will be encouraged and supported to introduce new innovative ways for the team to deliver effectively and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and driven. As well as insurance, this role offers opportunities to develop across several areas such as housing, supply chain management, contract management, office administration, customer service, data analysis and finance.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Insurance Apprentice, you'll be responsible for providing effective administrative support to the team with all aspects of insurance work, and with special focus on accurate processing and storage of claims data and correspondence.

Day-to-day, You Will

  • Provide support through general correspondence and contractual documentation administration, including monitoring and actioning of communications sent/received via the insurance email inbox
  • Use databases to update and retrieve relevant information; including inputting/reviewing of insurance claims and enquiry correspondence
  • Support with maintaining effective filing systems, computer-based records and data, ensuring that confidentiality is always paramount
  • Work with the team on day-to-day management of insurance administration
  • Keep an audit trail for insurance claims and support the team with data analysis with use of excel required.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service to internal and external customers throughout.
  • Support preparation of data for performance measuring and reporting purposes, using systems such as Open Housing/PlatformOne, SharePoint, and Microsoft Applications.
  • Work with other departments and outside agencies to obtain and record management information.

What do we need from you?

  • 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • To be at least 18 years of age (or 18 by the end of the September)
  • Not currently, or soon to be, in full or part-time education
  • A confident communicator with lots of enthusiasm
  • Organised and self-motivated
  • Able to work as part of a busy team in a changing environment
  • Comfortable working autonomously and without supervision, including working from home (although you will be fully supported to be successful)
  • Good organisation and ICT skills
  • A positive attitude and strong desire to grow your skills
  • Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn

This role is home-based, but flexibility is required for occasional travel to our Birmingham Business Park and Worcester offices and other locations as required by the business.
