Insurance Bid & Pursuit Project Manager

This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work both virtually and from an office location that suits you. Office locations are available across Scotland (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow) and the North of England (Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield).

What the day will look like

You’ll lead competitive tenders, client proposals, and strategic business opportunities. Working closely with colleagues across broking, claims, risk consulting, and specialist teams to develop solutions for clients, and demonstrate the value Aon can provide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end bid, RfP, and presentation projects, delivering high-quality, compliant submissions that demonstrate Aon’s value to clients
  • Develop an understanding of clients’ businesses, risks, insurance programmes, and priorities to support new business and existing client opportunities
  • Work with brokers, claims colleagues, risk consultants, and specialists to develop solutions for clients
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to develop bid strategies, key messages, and client presentations
  • Review and improve proposal content to ensure it is clear, accurate, compliant, and aligned to the client’s objectives
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing priorities, driving collaboration, and ensuring delivery to agreed timescales and quality standards
  • Lead post-bid reviews, share best practice, and use approved AI tools to improve the quality and efficiency of future submissions

How this opportunity is different

This role combines bid management, insurance expertise, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work on important growth and retention projects, collaborating with senior leaders, technical specialists, and client-facing teams across the UK. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients and industries, building your insurance knowledge and leadership skills.

Skills and Experience that will lead to success

  • Experience in commercial insurance, risk management, broking, or similar role, including reviewing insurance programmes and coverage structures
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
