About the Role
We are building a private wealth insurance practice from a standing start, within a wider firm that brings insurance, tax, and structuring advice together for entrepreneurs, family businesses, and private clients.
We are not hiring to fill a seat. We are hiring the person who will own and build our private wealth insurance discipline — spanning personal lines, HNWI and life cover, private enterprises and businesses, family offices, and trustees — with real market access and institutional-quality backing, but still small enough that what you build in the next three years defines the practice for the next thirty.
This is a rare opportunity to build an insurance advisory practice from the ground up, backed by an existing pipeline of founders, principals, and private clients — not years of cold outreach before your first meaningful introduction.
Responsibilities
Private Wealth Insurance, end to end — acting as an independent adviser designing protection around a client's full balance sheet, personal and business, not selling isolated policies:
- Personal lines & HNWI cover — building a consolidated view of personal property, liability, art, jewellery, aviation, marine, and other complex asset risk, mapped against ownership structure and jurisdiction
- Life and wealth protection — structuring life policies and related protection as part of succession, estate, and liquidity planning for individuals and families
- Private enterprises and businesses — advising founders and owner-managers on the insurance needs of their operating businesses alongside their personal wealth, from key-person and shareholder protection to commercial and liability risk
- Family offices and trustees — supporting family offices, trustees, and executors with the insurance dimension of trust-held assets, entities, and structures, ensuring cover keeps pace with how wealth is actually held and governed
- Specialist market access — placing cover with leading private-client carriers and specialist underwriters, driven by quality of terms and claims service
- Claims advocacy — standing beside clients when the unexpected happens: coordinating experts, presenting the loss, and pursuing fair, timely settlement
- Coordination with the wider picture — working alongside colleagues in tax and structuring so insurance decisions reflect a client's wider position, not just the asset or entity in front of you

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Growth Opportunities
As the discipline grows, you will shape how it's delivered, hire the team around you, and hold a genuine stake in what you build.
Requirements
- Significant experience in private client / high-net-worth insurance advisory, broking, or underwriting — ideally spanning personal lines, complex asset, life, and business/commercial cover
- Experience working with, or strong understanding of, family offices, trustees, executors, or private enterprises as clients — not just individual policyholders
- A track record of, or clear appetite for, building rather than administering — someone who wants to shape a discipline, not inherit one
- Comfort operating alongside tax and structuring specialists, with an interest in how insurance fits a client's wider financial and legal position
- Existing relationships or credibility within the private-client insurance market (carriers, underwriters, intermediaries) is a strong plus
- Entrepreneurial mindset — energised by early-stage building, comfortable with ambiguity, motivated by ownership and long-term equity rather than a fixed playbook
- Real access from day one — introductions to a pipeline of founders, principals, family offices, and private clients that already exists, not aspirational
- Ownership of a discipline — you define client relationships, technical delivery, and how the practice scales across personal, business, and trust-held wealth
- Institutional backing without bureaucracy — the compliance infrastructure and standards of an institutional platform, in a firm where a good idea can become policy in a week
- A genuine path to equity and leadership — the people who build each discipline are positioned to lead it, and hold a stake in it
- Work that matters — advising on the decisions that shape what a family, business, or estate protects and passes on, not just what they buy this year
