Job Title: IBA Cashier
Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum Location: The City of London.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Lawes Consulting Group are working with a highly ambitious and fast-growing commercial insurance and reinsurance broker at Lloyd's, on a genuine mission to reinvigorate the way businesses around the world manage risk. Backed by big growth plans and an expanding international network of offices, this is a business that is investing seriously in both its future and its people and they're now looking for an enthusiastic IBA Cashier to join their growing team in London.
This is a great opportunity to build a career in insurance broking from the ground up. You'll work closely with a collaborative IBA team across all aspects of banking, from initiating transfers to reconciling accounts and resolving currency queries and you'll play a genuinely important role in making sure client premiums and claims are processed accurately and on time. There's also real scope to suggest and shape process improvements as the business continues to expand.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysing bank receipts and payments, ensuring accurate and timely processing on the company's accounting system
- Reconciling cash receipts and payments against accounting entries
- Processing payments to clients (premiums and claims), markets and third parties via the company's online banking system, working to agreed deadlines to ensure excellent client service
- Assisting with the preparation of daily IBA bank reconciliations
- Handling foreign currency and exchange queries
- Running standard and ad-hoc accounting reports as required
- Investigating and resolving unidentified cash, liaising with colleagues, external parties and banks

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Accurate, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent relationship management skills
- A positive attitude and genuine eagerness to learn and develop within the role
- Previous experience within insurance is desirable but not essential – full training and support will be provided.
