Role Overview
Vanquish Tech is looking for an experienced Insurance Business Analyst / Insurance SME to join our growing delivery team.
This is a key client-facing role requiring strong insurance-domain knowledge combined with proven Business Analysis experience. You will work closely with insurance stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and delivery teams to define, challenge, and translate business requirements into clear, actionable requirements that can be used to design and deliver technology solutions.
We are looking for someone who can do more than simply document requirements. You will bring sufficient insurance expertise to lead requirements discussions, ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and help guide stakeholders towards clear and workable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering and analysis across insurance-related technology programmes.
- Work directly with business stakeholders, SMEs, and senior stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and priorities.
- Apply strong insurance industry knowledge to understand the context behind requirements and identify gaps.
- Challenge unclear, incomplete, conflicting, or technically impractical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions with stakeholders from different business areas.
- Bring together requirements from multiple departments and reconcile competing stakeholder views.
- Translate business requirements into clear, structured requirements that technical architects and engineering teams can design against.
- Help ensure that the right questions are being asked before technical solutions are developed.
- Provide insurance-domain context to technical teams to support informed architecture and design decisions.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, developers, and other members of the delivery team.
- Maintain requirements documentation, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting artefacts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and become a trusted point of contact for business and insurance-related requirements.
- Support delivery through testing, implementation, and change where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person We're Looking For
You will be a confident and experienced BA who combines strong insurance knowledge with the ability to work effectively with technical teams.
You should be comfortable walking into a discussion where requirements may be fragmented or stakeholders have different views, understanding the underlying business problem, and helping the group reach a clear and structured outcome.
This role requires someone who can lead the conversation rather than simply take notes.
You will need to be credible with senior client stakeholders while also being able to work closely with architects and engineers to ensure they have the business context needed to make the right technical decisions.
Working Model
This is a full-time hybrid role.
The position will be primarily remote, with periodic attendance at our London office and client locations. We anticipate approximately one day per week onsite, although this may vary depending on programme and client requirements.
Candidates should therefore be able to travel into Central London when required.
