Insurance Litigation & Regulatory Senior Associate - EL/PL Solicitor
London City Firm - Top Tier
Lucrative salary + benefits
Are you an experienced EL/PL solicitor looking for a role that offers more variety than a traditional defendant personal injury caseload?
I’m working with a highly regarded London practice that is looking to strengthen its specialist insurance and regulatory offering by recruiting a Senior Associate Solicitor into the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who enjoys complex claims but is also keen to develop their experience across the wider insurance and risk landscape.
The Opportunity
You’ll have responsibility for a varied caseload of employers’ liability and public liability matters, acting for insurers and their policyholder clients. Alongside your own files, you will have the opportunity to become involved in more complex and interesting matters alongside experienced partners.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The work can include:
- Complex EL and PL claims
- Serious injury and high value matters
- Large loss and multi-party disputes
- Policy and indemnity issues
- Health & safety investigations
- HSE enforcement and prosecutions
- Inquest/Regulatory matters
The role therefore offers considerably more breadth than a conventional defendant PI position.
Requirements
You will ideally be a 3 years + PQE solicitor with a solid defendant EL/PL background and experience acting for insurers, corporates or other commercial clients.
I am looking for someone that:
- Can confidently manage their own caseload
- Is comfortable dealing directly with insurers and sophisticated clients
- Has strong technical and drafting skills
- Enjoys tackling difficult or unusual matters
- Takes a commercial, pragmatic approach to litigation
- Is interested in developing beyond traditional personal injury work

Experience of regulatory investigations, HSE work, inquests or coverage matters would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
Why Consider It?
This is particularly attractive for someone who feels they've reached the point where standard EL/PL litigation is becoming too repetitive and wants to broaden their practice without walking away from the insurance work they enjoy.
You'll join a growing specialist team where there is scope to take on increasingly complex work, develop relationships with key clients and work closely with experienced partners.
