As Insurance Manager, you will ensure Superdrug, Savers and The Perfume Shop are appropriately insured against all risks and exposures, working closely with UK and global brokers.
You will oversee the Group’s insurance arrangements, manage brokers and third-party loss adjusters, provide insurance advice across the business and lead the annual Group insurance renewal for presentation to the Board.
You will also manage complex losses, recover money owed through store-level property losses and make informed liability decisions relating to personal injury and motor claims.
📝 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product liability, employer liability and public liability personal injury claims, liaising with stores, insurers and solicitors.

- Review the Group’s property losses and provide cost information to third-party insurers to maximise recoveries.
- Ensure solicitors’ correspondence and court claim forms are handled within the required legal deadlines.
- Manage property claims and demonstrate third-party negligence to recover losses for the business.
- Handle motor claims and work with insurers to support effective risk-management solutions.
- Attend regular meetings with solicitors, brokers and insurers to ensure appropriate processes, documentation and risk-management systems are in place.
- Keep up to date with changes to legislation and relevant court cases that may affect insurance and safety across the business.
- Review invoices through Bottomline to ensure payments are correct, not duplicated and allocated to the correct cost centre.

- Advise departments on insurance implications and ensure suppliers hold adequate insurance cover.
- Maintain the insurance property portfolio across all Group businesses to ensure every property remains appropriately covered.
- Produce insurance data and reports for internal stakeholders when required.
- Work with and line manage the Insurance and Safety Adviser.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
