Summary

We're looking for an experienced Insurance Manager to join the Trust's Risk & Assurance Team. Reporting to the Senior Insurance Manager, you'll play a central role in managing the Trust's insurance programme, providing specialist advice and helping the organisation understand and manage risk effectively.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, with the possibility for it to be extended and/or made permanent.

What It's Like To Work Here

The insurance function forms part of the Trust's Risk & Assurance team and is committed to providing a high-quality, professional service to colleagues across the organisation. You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where expertise is valued, knowledge is shared and continuous improvement is encouraged.

The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of colleagues and activities, applying your insurance expertise to support positive outcomes and help ensure the Trust's insurance arrangements continue to meet the organisation's evolving needs.

As this is a national role, there is flexibility on your contractual place of work. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with the Senior Insurance Manager, colleagues, insurers, brokers and other partners, you'll support the delivery of the Trust's insurance programme, including renewals, claims, disclosures and supplier insurance arrangements. You'll help maintain effective insurance governance through oversight, compliance, assurance and reporting, while providing practical insurance advice that helps colleagues understand risks and make informed decisions.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
