Insurance Partner / Senior Solicitor (Professional Risks & Property Damages) – Manchester City Centre – Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits
A tier-2 legal 500 law firm within a reputable Insurance Group recognised for its strength in insurance and litigation, is seeking a Senior Solicitor / Lawyer to join its Manchester office as part of its continued growth. As the ABS arm of Insurance Practice, the firm offers a unique and stable platform, combining high-quality work with an established pipeline of instructions that do not require a following, instead focusing on managing and developing existing matters. This role will involve handling complex work alongside mentoring and supervising junior team members within a collaborative environment. The firm offers a differentiated proposition including a 12% pension, up to 20% bonus and flexible/hybrid working, making it particularly well suited to those seeking high-quality work, reduced business development pressure and a more sustainable long-term career path.
The Role:
- Support the growth and development of the Professional Risks team, helping to strengthen its position within the wider business
- Build and enhance internal referral channels and external relationships with clients and business partners to drive sustainable growth
- Take an active role in originating and converting new business opportunities
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the team, offering input at a senior level on growth and positioning
- Advise clients on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, acting for both businesses and individuals across insured and uninsured work
- Lead, supervise and mentor junior lawyers, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Maintain responsibility for financial performance, including personal caseload management, billing and delivery against key KPIs
- Play a key role in the development of team profile and service delivery, including input into client materials, thought leadership and wider market engagement

The Candidate:
- Demonstrates deep technical expertise in defending liability claims (including within a construction context) and advising on complex policy coverage issues
- Delivers commercially focused, high-quality legal advice, underpinned by strong attention to detail and effective case management
- Brings proven experience in client relationship management and practice development, with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external networks
- Actively contributes to business development and growth, with a track record of generating and supporting new business opportunities
- An effective team leader and communicator, with excellent written skills, strong client care, and the ability to supervise and support junior team members
- A qualified Solicitor, operating at a senior level within Insurance and/or Litigation
