What Is the Opportunity?
At Simply Business, we're on a mission to enable big dreams for small businesses by making insurance simple, clear, and fair. As an Insurance Product Manager, you will take commercial ownership of a dynamic, high-value SME portfolio as part of the Complex & Niche team shaping tailored cover for complex and niche trade businesses that keep the UK economy moving.
What makes this role different from standard product positions? You will enjoy the agility of a scaleup backed by the reach of an established market leader. Rather than being confined solely to digital roadmaps, you will manage your portfolio like a mini business. You’ll stretch beyond traditional digital product management to shape front-line call centre strategies, partner directly with MGAs and specialist insurers, and optimise offline operational journeys.
As one of our Insurance Product Manager’s, you’ll:
- Lead day-to-day trading for niche commercial products, monitoring performance rhythms across new business and renewals to hit key targets.
- Expand our specialist insurer panels and MGAs to launch new covers, such as motor trades, for complex customer segments.
- Partner directly with call centre teams to refine lead scoring, customer routing, and operational journeys.
- Uphold robust product governance by leading product reviews and annual fair value assessments alongside compliance.
- Serve as the insurance product expert across wider business projects to continually improve overall customer journeys.
- Resolve operational and commercial incidents within complex customer journeys quickly and effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
