Insurance Project Manager

Location: London

Role Type: Contract - 3 months

Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office (flexible)

The Role

Our client is a leading international organisation within the insurance sector, providing specialist services to a diverse client base across global markets. The business is recognised for its expertise, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

What you'll do

  • Lead multiple Finance Systems projects across the full lifecycle, from discovery, planning and design through to testing, implementation and closure.
  • Define scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets and timelines, ensuring projects remain on track and deliver expected benefits.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Finance, IT and Business Change, managing resources, dependencies and competing priorities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues and potential changes, developing contingency plans and resolving challenges where required.
  • Prepare clear project documentation, management information and progress updates for senior stakeholders, sponsors, project boards and committees.
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships, support business adoption of new capabilities, and conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities.

What you bring

  • Background in the Insurance industry, ideally within London Market Insurance.
  • Strong Finance Systems expertise with good working knowledge of Oracle, ideally across ERP, EPM or related finance applications would be desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing Finance Systems projects from initiation through to delivery.
  • Sound understanding of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP certification would be advantageous.
