Band 6 Community Midwife Post
This is a band 6 Community Midwife post for the Mid Argyll locality offered on a fixed term/secondment contract until September 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and their families within the Mid Argyll locality.
- Support women in their choice of place of birth and provide care under a community midwifery model.
- Practice autonomously with support from consultants from Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
- Provide on-call care to women during birth in the out-of-hours period and respond to obstetric emergencies with the support from the on-call GP and hospital staff.
Requirements
- A driving licence is essential for this post.
About the Team
The Mid Argyll Midwifery Team is a small team committed to providing an excellent service to the patients within the locality. Training is provided, and there is a Service Level Agreement with GG&C for any ongoing training and development.

Additional Information for Candidates
Agenda for Change Full-Time Working Week
Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
