Job Description
Build technology people can trust.
At AJ Bell, we believe investing should feel good.
For our customers, that means feeling confident that their money is in safe hands and that the products and services they rely on are secure, reliable, and easy to use.
Behind that experience is great technology, and great people.
We’re looking for an Integration Engineering Manager to lead our Integration Engineering team and help us build the capabilities that make that experience possible.
Our Integration Engineering team creates strategic capabilities that enable software engineering teams across AJ Bell to deliver reliable, scalable, and observable solutions. The team has already established our ETL data streaming platform and is now taking on a new capability to evolve some of our most critical business processes.
This is an opportunity to lead an established, skilled, and highly collaborative team, while having a genuine influence on how engineering is done across AJ Bell.
You’ll be responsible for creating the environment in which engineers can do their best work; increasing team performance and delivery pace, developing technical leaders, and building greater technical depth. At the same time, you’ll remain close to the technology, contributing to technical discussions, supporting architectural decisions, and helping shape the future of our engineering capabilities.
It’s a role for someone who enjoys people leadership and technology in equal measure and who wants to make a lasting difference beyond their immediate team.
What does the job involve?
- Leading and owning a strategic engineering capability that influences how engineering is done across AJ Bell.
- Building a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Driving adoption and evolution of the ETL Streaming platform.
- Establishing a new capability to evolve critical business processes.
- Encouraging innovation and constant collaboration.
- Promoting AI-assisted software engineering to increase pace and quality.
- Working with diverse software engineering and technology teams.
- Balancing product, operational, regulatory, and strategic priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
