Job Title: Digital Technology & Integrations Lead
Location: UK – London, Ware or Barnard Castle preferred
Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension
Start Date: Immediate
Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Digital Technology & Integrations Lead to drive digital manufacturing initiatives, including MES recipe authoring, OT/IT integration, industrial automation connectivity, and manufacturing data contextualisation. The role involves working with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and technology teams to deliver scalable, GMP-compliant digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and deploy digital manufacturing recipes using AspenTech MES.
- Lead integrations between MES, SCADA, PLCs, industrial systems, and enterprise applications.
- Configure and administer Kepware/KepServerEX for industrial connectivity.
- Support OT automation interfaces and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing data models, mappings, and contextualisation aligned with ISA-88 and ISA-95.
- Support digital technology transfer, manufacturing instructions, Master Batch Records (MBR), and Electronic Batch Records (EBR).
- Ensure GMP compliance, data integrity, testing, validation, change control, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, MSAT, Engineering, Quality, R&D, and Digital Technology teams.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in OT automation and industrial system interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with AspenTech MES Recipe Authoring.
- SCADA platforms and Kepware administration/configuration.
- PLC programming: Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, or Omron.
- Industrial communication protocols: OPC UA, OPC DA, MQTT, Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and DNP3. BACnet is an advantage.
- SQL Server, historian databases, and reporting tools.
- Windows Server administration and networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of ISA-88, ISA-95, MES integration, and industrial data contextualisation.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biologics manufacturing, GMP/GxP, and Computer System Validation (CSV).

Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience at the intersection of manufacturing processes and technology solutions.
- Experience delivering digital manufacturing, MES, process automation, or technology transfer initiatives.
- Experience working in regulated pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, Automation, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Additional Information
Immediate availability or a short notice period is preferred. The client has also mentioned a requirement for “Highbyte” knowledge; the exact technology needs to be clarified.
