Mission:

The Integration Technician is an integral role within the Manufacturing Operations UK team and reports to the Integration Team Lead. It is a hands-on build role where you will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and testing of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) platforms and associated support equipment, ensuring all work meets technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Integration is where the airframe comes together, as a member of this team you will be trusted to perform structural and detailed assembly activities such as bracketry installation, harnessing, fastening, avionics. Following drawings and work instructions, completing documentation, and relevant certification requirements in line with associated airworthiness and standardised processes.

What will be your responsibilities:

  • Aircraft mechanical and structural work
    • Perform the assembly and integration of UAS airframes and sub-systems, including bracketry, precision drilling, and fastening. Conduct structural inspections on composite, metallic, and hybrid structures and perform rigging, alignment, and mechanical adjustments. Identify and report structural defects, damage, or non-conformities.
  • Avionics and electrical systems
    • Install, wire, and troubleshoot avionics systems including flight control systems, navigation, power distribution, sensors, and payload interfaces. Integrate communication systems, antennas, and RF components, support software/firmware loading, and system configuration where required.
  • Testing, fault diagnosis, and compliance
    • Conduct ground tests and functional checks and support flight readiness. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system faults using appropriate test equipment. Work in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, maintenance manuals, and quality procedures. Ensuring certification, maintenance records, non-conformance reports, and component traceability are accurately completed.
  • Health & Safety and Quality
    • Safety is fundamental to everything we do in the manufacturing environment. Given the precision and safety-critical nature of UAS build work, every team member is expected to follow all health and safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean, hazard-aware workspace at all times.
    • You will be expected to identify and report potential risks, near misses, or unsafe practices, and to actively contribute to a culture where safety is never compromised for speed or output. Maintain professional standards and attention to detail across all build activities, demonstrating accountability for the quality of your own workmanship adhering to ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.

What You'll Bring

Profile and requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in avionics maintenance, UAV/UAS systems, or precision assembly and integration bracketry, harnessing, drilling, fastening within aerospace, drone, or a similar regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and work confidently from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Current valid driving license and ability to obtain security clearance.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with UAV flight controllers, sensors, GPS modules, and software updates.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostics tools and soldering/board-level repairs.
  • Knowledge of flight safety and regulations, and familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.
