About the role
Are you an Integrations Engineer looking to shape the digital experience of prospective students at a world-leading university? Join Imperial College London’s Pre-enrolment Product Line to build and maintain secure, resilient integrations and technical solutions that connect systems, improve processes and enable exceptional digital experiences. Collaborating within an agile, product-led team, you'll help deliver services that support learners from their very first interactions with Imperial.
What you would be doing
- Designing, building and maintaining secure, scalable and resilient integrations that support the products and services within the Pre-enrolment Product Line.
- Developing integration solutions that comply with well-architected patterns, coding standards and best practices to ensure reliability, maintainability and supportability.
- Working with Azure Enterprise Integration Services, including API Management (APIM), Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus and related Azure services, to deliver enterprise-grade integration capabilities.
- Designing, developing and supporting APIs and system integrations using industry-standard protocols and technologies, including REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements, shape solutions and deliver value through iterative product development.
- Contributing across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to development, testing, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and technical assets using GitHub, supporting modern DevOps practices and automated deployments.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex integration and service issues, ensuring services meet agreed operational and performance standards.
- Ensuring solutions are designed with security, monitoring, resilience and maintainability in mind, and that data is managed appropriately throughout its lifecycle.
- Working as part of an agile, multidisciplinary product team to continuously improve services and enhance the pre-enrolment experience for prospective students

What we are looking for
- Experience developing and maintaining integrations in a medium or large-scale organisation, following established architectural principles, standards and best practices.
- Experience working with Azure Enterprise Integration Services, including API Management (APIM), Logic Apps, Function Apps, Service Bus and related Azure technologies.
- Experience designing, developing and supporting APIs and system integrations using protocols and standards such as REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
- Experience using GitHub for source control, release management, CI/CD and collaborative software development.
- Experience translating business requirements into robust technical solutions and delivering them using agile and iterative delivery approaches.
- Experience of working with Power Platform is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud-native integration patterns, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicating complex concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, Kanban or DevOps environments.
- Knowledge of Higher Education technology landscapes and student lifecycle systems would be advantageous
